We offer track and field programmes for 3 – 14 year olds at Walker Park in Pt Chev.

Season dates

Summer athletics starts in October and ends mid/late March. Registration is online only and covers the entire summer season.

Juniors programme (3-6 years)

Tuesdays from 5.15pm – 6.15pm. Learn more about our juniors programme structure.

3-6 age group membership fee

$84 inclusive of Athletics NZ & Athletics Auckland registration fee.

7-14 age group membership fee

$134 inclusive of Athletics NZ & Athletics Auckland registration fee.


Please note that part of the fees paid to us are distributed to regional and national bodies of which you are an affiliated member. These athletics bodies have different cancellation policies and may be deducted from the refund where applicable.

Pt Chev Athletics uniform

All athletes must wear the correct uniform for both Club Nights and competitions.

Uniforms can be ordered during registration and collected at the first Club Night. If you didn’t order one but still need a uniform, we’ll have extras available at the first Club Nights. We’re also happy to help source second-hand uniforms if required.

Junior T-shirt (3-6 years) - $22

Our juniors wear a white club t-shirt with the Pt Chevalier Athletics Club logo and their own plain black shorts.

Senior singlet (7-14 years) - $37

Our seniors wear a green club singlet with the Pt Chevalier Athletics Club logo and their own plain black shorts.

Code of conduct

At PCAAC, we’re committed to creating a safe, positive, and supportive environment for all athletes and families. By becoming a member of our club, we ask that you agree to uphold these values and follow our codes of conduct. This helps ensure our club stays welcoming, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

We trust our community to do the right thing, and while breaches of these expectations won’t be tolerated, our approach will always be fair, calm, and focused on keeping our club running smoothly.

Athletes code of conduct

To help our club run smoothly and to make sure everyone has fun, we ask all athletes to:

  • Be kind and respectful to coaches, officials, helpers, and other kids.

  • Listen carefully to instructions so activities stay safe and enjoyable.

  • Try your best, even when something is new or challenging.

  • Support your teammates and show great sportsmanship.

  • Look after equipment and use it safely.

  • Have fun and enjoy being part of the green-and-white team!

Parents and supporters code of conduct

Our club is run by volunteers and thrives on positive community support. We kindly ask parents and supporters to:

  • Show respect to all coaches, coordinators, officials, helpers, and athletes.

  • Model positive behaviour through encouragement, not criticism.

  • Use the correct channels for questions or concerns - please don’t confront officials during events.

  • Offer a hand where possible - set-up, pack-down, or helping at stations makes a big difference

  • Promote fair play and celebrate effort, improvement, and teamwork.

  • Ensure children are supervised and safe at all times during club nights.

Get involved

PCAAC is a not-for-profit club run entirely by volunteer parents, who give their time each week to help plan, organise, and deliver great programmes for our athletes. We operate with an open-door policy and always welcome new committee members.

Our AGM is held each April/May, where key roles such as President, Club Captains, and Secretary/Treasurer are elected. If you’d like to get involved or learn more, please contact us.

Frequently asked questions

  • PCAAC is a not-for-profit volunteer-run club. Parents manage all administration, coaching support, planning, and delivery of programmes.

  • Club nights are every Tuesday at Walker Park in Point Chevalier, Auckland.

    • Juniors (3–6): 5:15–6:15pm

    • Seniors (7–14): 5:45–7:00pm

  • You can register online - check out the membership section of our website for more details.

    Registrations close once the season starts to ensure safety, coach ratios, and manageable group sizes. You can contact us to go on a waitlist.

  • No. Your registration covers Term 4 and Term 1, valid until 31 March.

  • Children aged 3–14 can register.

  • Age groups are based on the child’s age as at 31 December of the current season.

  • Yes, uniforms are required for both the Junior and Senior programme.

    Seniors (7-14) Required: green club singlet + plain black shorts.

    Juniors (3-6) Required: White club t shirt.

  • Yes - extras will be available at the first club nights, and we can help source second-hand uniforms.

  • Athletes must wear an age patch with their name on the front of their singlet for competitions. These can be collected from a committee member and must be kept for the season.

  • Junior must be supervised by a parent or caregiver at all times. The club cannot take responsibility for unsupervised children.

    Our Junior programme (3–6) relies on parent involvement with stations and group support. Parent help with set-up, pack-down, and assisting coaches is always appreciated.

  • Absolutely - no experience needed. Our programmes are designed so any parent can assist.

  • Athletes rotate through age-appropriate running, jumping, and throwing activities led by coaches and parent volunteers. Seniors complete three events each night, rotating across a two-week cycle.

  • Juniors use Athletics NZ’s Get Set Go foundation programme, designed for fun, movement skills, and confidence.

  • Running (sprints, distance, hurdles), long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, and javelin (where age-appropriate).

  • Yes. Senior athletes can take part in club meets, Auckland competitions, Interclubs, Colgate Games, and other events.

  • There are opportunities for our 5-6 years to compete at certain events in the season, but most will take part in fun events within the club.

  • Cancellations due to weather will be announced on our Facebook page and whatsapp group by 4pm.

  • Club night will be cancelled in the event of rain, as wet conditions may pose a safety risk to our athletes.

  • Our coaching team includes professional sprint and jumps coaches, youth coaches, and parent volunteers. All aim to create a fun, safe environment. Learn more about our coaches.

  • Yes - Club Champs results and club records are maintained each year.

  • Yes. All members (athletes, parents, supporters) agree to follow our Club, Kids’, and Parent Codes of Conduct to ensure a safe, respectful environment.

    We take a fair and supportive approach, but behaviour that is unsafe, abusive, or disruptive will not be tolerated.

  • Yes - we welcome new members anytime. The AGM is held in April/May where key positions are elected.

  • Usually no - because programmes, groupings, and coaching numbers are set at the start of the season. Please contact us to discuss special cases, especially with 10+ athletes where more spaces are available.
