Rep Selection

Grade 10 and 11 Trans Tasman Team

Athletes in the 10 and 11 age groups can be selected to represent Auckland in the annual Trans Tasman Challenge which takes place in the second week of January.  The Trans Tasman Challenge is an international competition as the Trans Tasman team competes against a NSW team. This year the challenge will take place in Sydney.

Trials are held in November at Mount Smart.

* A team of up to 100 athletes may be selected (25 from each age group).
* Children aged 10 or 11 on 1st October 2018 are eligible for selection.
* Selection will be based on performances at the trial.
* Athletes must compete in a minimum of four events at the trial, including minimum of one field and one track event.

Grade 12 and 13 Interprovincial Team

Athletes in the 12 and 13 age groups can be selected to represent Auckland in the annual Interprovincial competition.  Every athletic centre in New Zealand, has a team represented so it is a National level competition with the best athletes in the country. Each team consists of a maximum of 44 athletes. There are 11 male and 11 female athletes from each grade. Every athlete must be able to compete in 4 events, excluding relays. They must also be a combination of track and field events. Athletes score points for each event and this goes towards the team total. Relays are included in the overall total. The points are based on the decathlon scoring system.

U16 Interprovincial Team

Athletes in the 14 age group can be selected to represent Auckland in the annual U16  Interprovincial competition.

New Zealand Athletics Championships

In 2019, our youth coaches Oliver Miller won Gold medals in the Senior Men’s 400m sprint and 400m hurdles and Maiya Christini won a Bronze medal in Senior Women’s 5000m.
