REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS

Congratulations to Maddie Kelso-Heap (10yrs), Joe Berman (10yrs) & Sam Berry (11yrs) who have been chosen to represent Auckland in the upcoming Trans Tasman challenge being held in Auckland in January 2016.  Well done on your individual efforts and achievements.

We were also represented at the 12 & 13 Year Inter Provincial (IP) and are awaiting the team to be named. Some great results in from Maioha Murupaenga-Hutchings, Bianca Gugich and Truman Tepai. Well done to all.

PAPATOETOE RIBBON DAY

Papatoetoe Athletics Club are holding their Open Ribbon Day this Saturday 21st at their home ground Omana Park, Omana Rd, Papatoetoe. The meet starts at 10am and is open to all 2 – 14 year olds. You do not need to register you can just turn up for this event. You must wear your club uniform. This would be a great opportunity for entry level competitors to see what competitions are all about.

PCAAC RIBBON DAY

We are holding our ribbon day on Sunday 22nd of November. Starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm. Once again you do not need to register you can just turn up and compete in your chosen events. We would love to see as many of our athletes as possible supporting our Ribbon Day. Bring along a picnic lunch, your picnic mat and shelter to make a family day of it. The BBQ will be running and there will be drinks and other goodies available for sale. This is going to be excellent practice for our representatives and for anyone interested in competing in external events. There is a non-competitive Junior Programme for 3 – 6 year olds that will run from 10.30am to 11.30am. All littlies will receive a participation ribbon.

70 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

As part of our 70 year anniversary celebrations we are creating a photo wall timeline which we are keen to display at our open day this weekend! We are looking for photos from the 80’s and 90’s! if any of you know of anyone that was a part of the club in that error we would love some photo’s. You can email ptchev70@gmail.com or ptchevathletics@outlook.com

ROSTERED DUTIES AND SUPERVISION

It is a term and condition of registration that parents assist at club nights on at least two occasions.   Please ensure that you show up for your rostered duties. To find out when you are rostered, go to quick links on our home page and click on parent help information.

If you are not on this roster, no need to worry you will have your turn in the New Year!

All age groups require an age group helper. The primary job of an age group helper is to supervise the age group and move them between event stations on time and to help organise the children at the event stations.
Our committee is made up of 14 parent volunteers. We meet throughout the year to ensure that we provide an engaging and enjoyable programme for our children. Many of us double up as event coaches; our time is best spent on training and coaching rather than herding and supervising.  We have 271 registered members and over 200 children participating in club nights every Tuesday.

We are disappointed to discover each week that children as young as 7 are left at Walker Park unsupervised and we want to stress that it is not the responsibility of the club to babysit your children. Please ensure that your children are appropriately supervised. Any children without appropriate supervision may be asked not to participate in the programme.

Please do your fair share and pitch in, please ask how you can help!

CANCELLATIONS

Please note that our preferred methods of communication for cancellation are via our website and facebook page. Cancellation will be posted to the website no later than 4.30pm on the day. When time allows we will also email but it is not always possible to do so.

SAUSAGE SIZZLE

Please remember to support the sausage sizzle all funds raised help us to support athletes at external events and replace old equipment.  We would really appreciate small notes and change.

UNIFORMS AND AGE GROUP PATCHES

By now all club members should have and should be wearing club uniform on club nights. The uniform consists of the white Club Tee or Singlet & Black Shorts. A white or black tee can be worn underneath the club singlet if required.

TROPHY RETURN

Some of our trophies are in need of fixing or replacing, therefore we would appreciate it if you could return your trophies to the registration desk by the 8th of December.
